Let’s Talk! EQ and Racism 101 // July 15, 2020
Let’s engage in civil discourse: a conversation intended to enhance understanding. This is a response to the racial justice issues and educating on the basic terminologies that are dominating our everyday conversations. Where do we even begin? Let’s start with how emotional intelligence (EQ) can help us navigate our personal growth. Then, we will discuss the definitions of race, ethnicity, culture, white privilege, and equity vs. equality. Join me for a facilitated discussion forum to cultivate authentic, meaningful, and educational conversation around EQ and racism.
I am honored to bring on two colleagues of mine from our work together in family leadership (FLTI) in the state of Colorado… special guests, Dr. Carolyn Love and Jason Vitello.
Carolyn Love, PhD is the founder of Kebaya Coaching & Consulting. The Company focuses on enhancing the leadership talent in organizations, creating equitable and inclusive workplaces, and facilitating meaningful and sustainable change.
Jason Vitello is a motivational speaker, leadership coach, and health equity consultant. He exposes the relationship between mental health and power differentials within the social context. He equips his audience with the tools they need to shift their focus by asking, “How can we help people to not just beat the odds, but change the odds?”
